Sponsored CharitiesChild Crisis Center of El PasoThe Child Crisis Center was founded by Mary Russell over 30 years ago. It is committed to preventing child abuse and neglect. They accomplish this by supporting and strengthening families through education and intervention, by providing a safe environment for children to heal, and by recruiting, training and supporting foster and adoptive families.  Discovery ShopOver 20 years old the shop's proceeds help to fund local not-for-profits.The Discover Shop opened its doors in 1990 by the “Friends of the Child Crisis Center”. The store is all volunteer staffed and managed. It employs only one maintenance person, therefore, operating costs are very low. The social enterprise earns yearly revenues in excess of $300,000 and contributes over $250,000 to the Child Crisis Center to help with operating costs. Since its inception, the Discovery Shop has raised over $3,000,000 for the Center. The success of the Discovery Shop has provided the Center a consistent stream of operating capital and has helped the Center grow.
